Oh y’all. This weekend was one for the record books!
We headed up north to visit my family and had a quintessential autumn weekend! There was apple cider, pumpkin bread and a corn maze!
-We stayed with my lovely and gracious cousin, whose home always looks like it’s ready for a magazine photo shoot. She and her husband are the best and we LOVE spending time with them! I finally got the two of them in front of my camera! We pulled over on the side of the road and trudged out into a muddy cotton field for sunset pictures. We were fighting daylight and had about 6 minutes to shoot! But they are total naturals in front of the camera and we got some excellent shots!
– My cousin suggested a going to a corn maze. Don’t ask my why, but I kept imagining a hay bale maze. So when we showed up to the corn maze, I was completely surprised. Corn maze! It’s in the name! Why I pictured a hay bale maze is still beyond me! It was so much fun! It took us over an hour to make our way through. Word to the wise, don’t wear new cowboy boots to corn a maze. You will have a blast but your feet will not like you! Following our escape from the corn maze we got some warm apple cider and BBQ brisket. We also grabbed a loaf of pumpkin bread for the road! We went on a hay bale ride to look at amazingly carved pumpkins! They had everything from Disney characters to classic TV characters (I Love Lucy was a personal favorite!)
I wish we could’ve stayed longer cause the weekend was not near enough time. But I am so thankful we were all able to spend time together! Have an excellent Monday folks!
