Whew. What a wild ride 2020 has been. We’ve moved–to South Korea!
I know.
In the middle of a pandemic we had to move.
It was challenging, it was difficult, it was overwhelming but we made it through! Which, honestly, feels like the slogan of 2020.
After finding a place to live, settling in, receiving our household goods and finally getting the studio set up-BBP is officially back open for business!
(And that meme is exactly how I feel after writing the above sentence.)
It’s been exciting to explore a new culture-albeit very odd due to the ‘rona. Apart from the general ‘rona restrictions South Korea isn’t as dog friendly as Europe, so when you add in the heavy air pollution it’s rather obvious that I don’t get out much. But as I’m by nature a homebody-I’m not too concerned.
I am very happy to say that the Korean people are very generous, kind, and patient! Despite my knowing only a handful of Korean words and phrases, I’ve not had any trouble communicating thanks to their patience and the advent of wonderful translation apps! I truly appreciate their good natured attitude towards Americans who are temporarily in their country.
Suffice to say, I’m beyond ready to get back behind the camera and start photographing some gorgeous babies! If I’ve learned anything from 2020-it’s the importance of family. And I feel so honored that I get to create true heirlooms for my clients, allowing their memories and legacies to live on through the decades.
